Last February, JDCA fielded its annual Values and Priorities survey, designed to gather the thoughts, values, and opinions of those directly impacted by T1D and give to diabetes-focused charities. With over 200 responses across demographics, their answers reflect the voices of the people generously supporting T1D organizations.
One important question in this year’s survey asked T1D donors about their satisfaction level with nonprofit progress toward a T1D cure.
Answers to this key question are summarized in the infographic below, as well as the reasoning behind the level of satisfaction and how both sides—donor and nonprofit—can strengthen the research ecosystem if their values align.
The focus is on Breakthrough T1D and the American Diabetes Association, two of the largest and most influential nonprofits in diabetes research. Specifically, we asked, “How satisfied are you with these diabetes charities' progress and impact toward a T1D cure?”
